Research paper
Step 1: Choose one of the following themes of existentialism:
1. Meaninglessness
2. Isolation
3. Death
4. Freedom
Step 2: Choose five of the author’s across five time periods (Ancient World, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Reformation, Nineteenth Century or Twentieth Century). How does each of these authors explain the theme you chose in Step 1?
Step 3: Explain how Curt Kobain and Victor Frankl understand the theme you chose in Step 1. Compare and contrast their views with each other and with the authors you choose in Step 2.
To understand how these authors view your theme you need to find outside articles, books or websites to supplement your readings. Some of these must be considered scholarly. These articles, books or websites will be evaluated in your Annotated Bibliography which is due about two weeks before the research paper.
